The Original Chocolate Chip Cookie

This is the best chocolate chip cookies recipe ever!  Just a simple, amazingly delicious, cookie recipe. What make it the best? It is the tried-and-true original chocolate chip cookie recipe. Chocolate Chip the Original Chocolate Chip recipe was created in the late 1930s by Ruth Wakefield. She stumbled upon this wonderful creation by simply using what she had, she was simply ahead of her time. We have tweaked Mrs. Ruth's recipe just a little to make it our own. Enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter which is equivalent to 2 sticks of butter add another stick of butter if your want a softer cookie.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 beaten eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in 1 teaspoon hot water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • Course salt for garnish optional

Instructions
 

  • Using a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, baking soda water, vanilla, until smooth.
  • Using a separate mixing bowl sift the flower, salt, cornstarch.
  • Combined wet and dry ingredients.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips just until evenly distributed.
  • This part it optional, cover and chill the dough overnight. This helps with cookies not spreading in the oven.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190° C).
  • Scoop dough into balls, about 14 grams each. Place them on lined baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for about 8 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Garnish with coarse salt (optional). Enjoy!
