Cherry Cheese Cake
Delicious homemade German Cheese Cake.
Equipment
- 1 hand mixer optional
- 1 9 x 12 Baking dish
Ingredients
Dough & Crumble
- 2 Sticks of butter
- 4 Cups flour
- 1 Cup sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 Egg
- 1 Pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp Baking powder
Cream Cheese & Cherries
- 3 Cups quark (or alternative Greek yogurt)
- 1 Package of vanilla pudding 3.4 oz
- ¾ Cup sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 45 oz Cherries or any fruit of your choice
Instructions
- Preheat over 350 degrees. Butter baking dish. Melt butter and set aside to cool.
- Crumble Crust Instructions: In a large mixing bowl, mix four sugar, vanilla, pinch of salt, baking powder, and 1 egg. Lastly, slowly add butter. Once mixed, set aside.
- Place about 1/2 of the crumble mix into a baking dish and press down.
- Cream Cheese Filling Instructions: Using another large mixing bowl, add quark or Greek Yogurt vanilla pudding, sugar, one egg, and lemon juice. Then mix.
- Pour the filling into the baking dish and spread evenly. Add fruit. Lastly, add the remainder of the crumble dough to the top.
- Bake for about 40-45 minutes.
- Let cool for about 15 minutes, then add powdered sugar. Enjoy!
