Cherry Cheese Cake

Delicious homemade German Cheese Cake.

Equipment

  • 1 hand mixer optional
  • 1 9 x 12 Baking dish

Ingredients

Dough & Crumble

  • 2 Sticks of butter
  • 4 Cups flour
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder

Cream Cheese & Cherries

  • 3 Cups quark (or alternative Greek yogurt)
  • 1 Package of vanilla pudding 3.4 oz
  • ¾ Cup sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 45 oz Cherries or any fruit of your choice

Instructions

  • Preheat over 350 degrees. Butter baking dish. Melt butter and set aside to cool.
  • Crumble Crust Instructions: In a large mixing bowl, mix four sugar, vanilla, pinch of salt, baking powder, and 1 egg. Lastly, slowly add butter. Once mixed, set aside.
  • Place about 1/2 of the crumble mix into a baking dish and press down.
  • Cream Cheese Filling Instructions: Using another large mixing bowl, add quark or Greek Yogurt vanilla pudding, sugar, one egg, and lemon juice. Then mix.
  • Pour the filling into the baking dish and spread evenly. Add fruit. Lastly, add the remainder of the crumble dough to the top.
  • Bake for about 40-45 minutes.
  • Let cool for about 15 minutes, then add powdered sugar. Enjoy!
