My computer crashed a few weeks ago, as fate may have it I purchased a new one. I circled back to Dell a tried-and-true favorite. There is a new feature on it, just a button that connects the user directly to AI – how convenient. I have noticed over the last 6 months Chat GBT is used now more than ever. The story goes something like this, the user of Chat GBT has to write an email so instead of “thinking” for themselves to compose an email, they ask Chat GBT to compose it for them. Reason being they will have lessor or better yet no errors in their composition, also having the appearance of being a better writer than they are.
I am going to take a hard pass on this option. I deleted the tab from my taskbar, no thank you I do not want this feature.
We write to learn, if you taking writing away you take away the thought. The writing is the very tool that is used to understand the subject. No writing equals no learning.
It will first come to us as a tool to “help” us. I see 1984.
