Homemade Banana Bread

Enjoy delicious homemade fresh banana bread with a cup of coffee or warm milk; this recipe will make your heart smile. 🙂
It is simple to make with very little prep time and a wonderful recipe with your kiddos—a great recipe to add to your collection.

Equipment

  • 1 Bread pan 9x5
  • 1 Electric mixer

Ingredients

  • 3 Rip bananas (best when speckled)
  • ½ Cup sugar
  • 2+1/4 Cup flour
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • ¼ tsp Baking soda
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 Stick of butter - room temperature
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon for the top
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  • Preheat over to 350 degrees and butter pan. In a mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter. Save a little sugar for the top of the bread.
  • Then add egg and smashed bananas.
  • Using a separate bowl sift the flour.
  • Add the remainder of the dry ingredients to the sifted flour.
  • Combined all ingredients, do not over mix.
  • Add mixture to baking pan, sprinkle cinnamon & sugar to the top.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour. Insert a toothpick into the top of the bread. If clean, then it is ready.
  • Transfer to a wire rack, and let cool before cutting into the bread. Enjoy!
